Statement

Over the years, I have developed two different lines of work, yet they are united by the same vibrancy of color, storytelling, and humor. I undoubtedly live in a kind of duality as an artist, where I allow myself to explore my more refined, perfectionist, elegant, and mysterious side—through which I tell more personal stories, with a very much polished techniqhe and play with cubism and surrealism language.

At the same time, I embrace another side of myself that is more mischievous, unpredictable, and spontaneous, where I reinterpret existing stories in my own way, with humor and irony. On these pieces I work with loose and expressive brushstrokes combined with the hand-drawn line of illustration on canvas.

This duality I carry is the same one I see in cats—those fascinating beings I have chosen as the main characters to tell these stories across most of my canvases. I define my work as a show that wants to entertain the audience, inviting to observ and interact with the piece. Once someone is caught by the painting I hope that person can see beyond the aesthetic and find the way to the core of the story and sometimes hidden message.
